Welcome to the Barca Lariana Museum

Eight different boats, an introduction to the museum’s exhibits: from the first boat to break the 200 kh barrier to the elegance of a British pleasure craft.

The hall welcomes visitors with eight magnificent boats, serving as an introduction to the narrative sections of the museum tour: historic boats, 19th-century England, the regattas of Lake Como, the powerful runabout class, and the speedboats of Lake Como. Visitors are enchanted by the Laghi Series No. 8, a splendid sailboat from 1920 that once belonged to Countess and explorer Carlangela Durini.
The red hull of the Laura Iยฐ, designed by Guido Abbate โ€”the first boat to exceed 200 km/hโ€”and the perfectly preserved elegance of the Colombo Super Rocket 007 certainly do not go unnoticed.

This room also houses our bookshop, which features books and essays on the nautical history of Lake Como, novels and short stories set on the lake, as well as gifts and souvenirs strictly related to boating or themed around Lake Como.
